Day School Director Bailey Waggerman is treating all the kids to a PIZZA PARTY for lunch. There will be pizza and fruit at regularly scheduled lunch times.

The Celebrate Recovery study “Life’s Healing Choices” is on Wednesdays at 6:00 in the parlor. The 8-week study started July 23, but there is still time to join and participate in this group. Designed around the Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, this study and group will help us deal with past hurts, replace painful habits, and discard hangups that prevent us from living whole and healthy lives. Dr. Candis Fredericksen is the leader (hcandis68@gmail.com).

This study, “The Will of God”, was a series of sermons given by the Reverend Leslie Weatherhead during the London Blitz in World War II. This series of sermons was Weatherhead’s attempt to explain to his congregation how bad things happen in a world created by a good and omnipotent God. He encouraged people to think about what they were actually saying when they said, “It is God’s will.” He attempted to do this by naming and explaining the will of God at various times and in various circumstances.

This study started Wednesday, July 16. It is led by Pastor Mark Watson and is in room 213, which is upstairs.

Please join this group if you are seeking to understand why bad things happen.

Pastor Sam and Martha are starting their next adventure in life, but that means they are leaving us. Forty years in ministry and now they are retiring and heading off to more time together and with family. Goodbye Sam! Goodbye Martha!

The last day of the conference is Saturday, May 31. It will start with a service of holy communion. The service of commissioning and ordination will start at 10:30am and the conference will adjourn at noon.
