The Watson Family: Lisa, Mark, Steven, Emily, and Gabe

I was born and raised in the Shawnee area and graduated from high school there. I attended Oklahoma City University on a Religious Leadership Scholarship (one of the first group of students to be given that scholarship). While at OCU, I worked at Ridgecrest UMC. I started as the custodian and later worked my way up to become the Youth Minister. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion upon my graduation in 1985.

I attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY for my Masters of Divinity degree. While attending seminary I became the youth minister at the fastest growing UMC in the country...St. Luke's. I had the pleasure of learning the ins and outs of pastoral ministry from Rev. Lindsey Davis, who is now a retired bishop of our denomination.

I graduated from Asbury in May of 1988 and received my first appointment as the Associate Pastor and Wesley Foundation Director at Weatherford/Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Lisa and I were married in July of 1988.

My appointments since Weatherford are as follows: Calumet, Watonga, Locust Grove, Blanchard, Pauls Valley, Seminole, Checotah, and now Wickline.

We have three children. Steven is our oldest and is the assistant band director at Lindsey. Our daughter, Emily, is a registered nurse at Bethany Children's Health Center, and Gabe who will be in the 6th grade this fall and will attend Piedmont schools.

My wife of almost 37 years, Lisa, is a registered nurse and works for DHS. She will be retiring in December of this year.

I currently serve on the Equitable Compensation Committee for the Conference, as a dean for one of the Sonshine camps. I have held numerous district leadership positions and will probably be serving in some capacity with the Central District."

Meet the Team

  • Jennifer Fleming

    DIRECTOR OF MINISTRIES

I was born in Stillwater, but I was primarily raised in San Antonio. My father was raised in Midwest City so I visited here often. I have been living in Oklahoma since 1994. I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. After I graduated, I started my career with the State of Oklahoma in Child Welfare. I served Oklahoma families in Child Welfare for 23 years.

My husband and I have three wonderful children. They were baptized at Wickline UMC in 2012. I enjoy gardening, sewing, traveling, and spending time with my family.

My favorite verse is Psalm 82:3 “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”

  • Jessie Brown

    YOUTH DIRECTOR

The two most important things about me are that I love Jesus and I love kids! I am married to Jordan and mother to almost 2-year old JJ.

I was born and raised in Tulsa and moved Oklahoma City to go to college. I teach second grade at Midwest City Elementary and am the Whiz Kids teacher liaison for Midwest City Elementary and Wickline. Along with my husband, I am a big sports fan.

Two of my favorite things are kangaroos and anything neon green. I love to read and play games. One of my favorite verses is Romans 12:2, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

  • Jordan Brown

    PASTORAL ASSISTANT/YOUNG ADULT DIRECTOR

I am a graduate of Mid-America Christian University. I’m also a big sports fan and cheer for the Thunder, Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals. I am married to Jessie and am the proud father of JJ who is almost two.

I was born and raised in WaKeeney, Kansas, a very small town. I teach at Van Buren Elementary. I love watching or reading about all different sports, watching movies, and playing games. One of my favorite verses is Philipians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

  • Brian Black

    BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

A lifelong Oklahoman and graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Brian brings a unique blend of ministry and leadership experience to his role. He has served as a pastor, chaplain, and HR professional, helping people grow in faith and navigate life’s challenges with compassion. With over 20 years in leadership and 8 years in HR and payroll management, he offers strong organizational and administrative skills to support the mission of the church.

He and his wife live in Midwest City and are blessed with three children and three grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, cycling, and camping. His life motto is: Love God. Love others. Do good.

  • Bailey Waggerman

    WICKLINE DAY SCHOOL DIRECTOR

I was born in Okmulgee, OK, but grew up in New Mexico. I married my wonderful husband in 2010. We have three awesome children. I have been with Wickline Day School since 2016. I have a background in childcare and the food industry. I love the joy children naturally bring to life.

My favorite Bible verse is from 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love."

  • Ralph Duncan

    CHOIR/HANDBELL DIRECTOR

I feel that the Lord led me to Wickline in 1983. One of the most time-consuming parts of being the Director of Music for Wickline is ensuring that the lyrics and spirit of the music contributes to and complements the message being preached. It is also one of the most rewarding.

  • Kim Carlon

  • Bill Knisely

    AUDIO/VISUAL TECHNOLOGY

I grew up in Midwest City and in the Wickline family. In addition to my audio/tech duties at the church, I am a band director at Midwest City Middle School. I live in Midwest City with my wife Tonya and 3 sons, Phillip, Matthew, and Andrew. I enjoy playing in the bell choir and playing trumpet with the choir.
